1984:

David Krysco (Gizmo) launches New Horizon Productions, which changes its name to New Horizon Interactive in 2005

1995:

Lane Merrifield (Billybob) begins to work at Disneyland in California.

October 1999:

Lance Priebe (rsnail) starts an online game business called Rocketsnail Games.

July 2000:

A small penguin chatting network known as Experimental Penguins is created by Rocketsnail and opens to the public.

July 2001:

Experimental Penguins, after becoming very popular, closes due to game traffic and costs.

July 2001:

A new and updated version of Experimental Penguins gets its own website, and it is released it will be renamed Penguin Chat.

January 2003:

Public testing of Penguin Chat starts.

Throught 2003-2004:

Penguin chat goes through Penguin Chat, Penguin Chat 2, and finally Penguin Chat 3.

October 24, 2005:

Club Penguin officially opens through New Horizon Interactive, after going through Beta Testing.

May 2007:

Club Penguin begins to look for a partner who could help support and expand CP.

June 22, 2007:

The Rocketsnail website closes, relenquishing Penguin Chat 3 for good.

August 1, 2007:

Disney buys Club Penguin for $350 million dollars.

Late December 2007:

Club Penguin launches Coins for Change, a charitable porgram where online players can donate virtual coins to help different charities.

Mid March 2008:

Club Penguin begins CPIP, a special improvement project involving Testing Servers.

April 4, 2008:

The Testing Servers close.
